I was born in 1981 and grew up listening to Raffi. In fact, the very first concert I ever went to was a Raffi concert. We lived in San Francisco at the time and I remember taking Bart to Berkley with my parents and younger siblings and I was so excited.

I'm 29 now and while I don't have any children of my own yet, I have been a nanny off and on for different families for the last ten years. For every family that I have nannied for, I have bought a copy of both Evergreen, Everblue and Raffi in Concert. I just started a new job for a three month old and we listen to Raffi in Concert at least three times a day, we just put it on repeat and dance together, and he already loves it.

Raffi's music is forever associated with my childhood, especially my father, who had a lot of the same ideals and principles as Raffi and who passed away when I was eleven. Listening to Raffi is always bittersweet for me because of those memories.

I just wanted to say thank you to Raffi for being such a huge part of my childhood and in turn, my adulthood. All I Really Need is my very favorite song, I play the Christmas album on repeat every year and Evergreen Everblue makes me believe that maybe even I can make a difference.

So thank you, Raffi.
