We are all children of the earth and as such we are keepers of the earth. How do we want to keep it? I am a 'beluga mom' who recently attended the NAEYC conference in Atlanta, Georgia. I was incredibly moved during Raffi's closing remarks. When my daughters were young, we always listened to Raffi, and I carried that love into my kindergarten classroom. (My daughters named their hand-knit teddy bears Raffi, and this tradition continues in gifts of bears and CD's to another generation of precious children.)

Emotionally touched by the words of the Covenant for Honouring Children, I will return to my (classroom) children tomorrow morning with renewed committment to them, and a visible reminder of that committment as I post 'A Covenant' in my classroom! I will share this message with my colleagues, and others!!!
